 2010 has been fixed as the date when the building industry in Europe is
transferred from national standards to the Eurocodes. In Denmark however, the
National Agency for Enterprise and Construction has decided that Denmark will
implement the Eurocodes as early as 2008.
“The Danish building industry will have a competitive advantage, when we
transfer to the Eurocode- platform before other countries. At the same time the
newly revised Danish standards are reflecting the principles of the Eurocodes
more than earlier, which will make the transfer for the building industry
easier” says project manager, Erling Trudsø from the Danish Standards
Association.
