I agree the NDP are contrary to the principle of the Eurode. In the UK there are NDPs that are being discussed that link to the exist, often out dated British Standards. An example being the design of concrete structure subjected to fire conditions where a series of tabulated values for cover for a given period of fire (as defined in BS8110) rather than the engineering approach presented in EN1992.

I think it's half and half.
Yes, they could not even agree on material safety factors for ordinary steel, which we buy whereever it is cheapest.
And yes, I think it is necessary to let every country determine environmental influences as earthquake, wind, snow and so on.

I have the problem right now, that I want to design standard parts for temporary use in heavy lifting tasks, which we want to use world wide, but cannot even know what safety factors might be in the national forewords. If at least Europe could agree on the same numbers... Then it would be worldwide aknowledged as the DIN or ASTM standards are now.

Is there an overview, or collection of all NADs/NDPs. They should be copyright free, are they?

Krogh,
Yes, I would appreciate such a list.

All,
Why don't you e-mail me the valid ψ, γF from EN 1990 and γM values from EN 1993 for your country and I enter it in an Excell sheet and provide a download link.
N.B. those values from the national annex.

Krogh,
Thanks for the hint, but we are not doing the rough crane business, but strand jacking (www.hl-vsl-schweiz.ch), where we calculate parts as steel structures, with a low dynamic factor.

Hello Lobo

This is a very good idea. Maybe you should prepare the table and submit a link for the table-template. Or you can send it to mail@eurocode.info and we will make it available in the download section.

You are all also free to mail the values to mail@eurocode.info. The files will then be forwarded to Lobo's e-mail.
